Knowing North Wiltshire so well, having been brought up in Calne and then Chippenham, I started my career in 1989 as a negotiator with a large corporate Estate Agency working in Devizes, Frome and then Chippenham progressing through the ranks to Senior Manager. I have always had a strong competitive nature and thrive on the challenges that can often bring and by 2000 I was eager to grasp the opportunity to take a step away from the corporate world. With a colleague we set up an Independent Estate Agency in Royal Wootton Bassett. I have always believed in a very honest, friendly and transparent approach in dealing with people, whilst being ably supported by a like-minded experienced and knowledgeable team to provide the highest service standards possible. As they say you are only as strong as your weakest link. I believe this was an integral part of enabling us to grow a highly successful and reputable business, with two further offices opening in Cricklade and Swindon Old Town. In late 2005 we merged with another local independent and the new company grew to 10 offices covering a large area of North Wiltshire. In 2008 I could not resist the exciting opportunity to launch Goodman Warren Beck back in my home patch of Chippenham with some like-minded colleagues from the former business. This exciting new venture I am proud to say has gone from strength to strength over the years to develop an enviable reputation within the local community. Even today I would say there is no greater satisfaction than seeing people realise their dreams and their appreciation of the small part we played in making that happen.
